A local florist will be contracted to make the 'base mum' at a flat rate. Parent volunteers will embellish the MUMS by adding student names and trinkets. Parent volunteers take orders during the lunch periods and deliver homecoming week. MUM sales have been declining over the last three years. We are using a new strategy to see if we can boost the net-profit. In the past the sale of Band and Elite spirit items had been minimal and sold at a 'break-even' price. We plan to sale t-shirts, yard signs, lanyards, decals and duffle bags. The objective of spirit items is to display support of the EHS Band and Elite student programs. The Percussion Concert features performances from the students and a professional artist who was hired as a guest clinician to work with the students. Additionally, the In-Door Percussion Ensemble will perform their TCGC show. EHS community of students, families and sponsors are invited to attend. Tickets will be sold in advance at a nominal price. Details would need to be discussed with school administrators. The basic concept is the Booster would sell low cost Elkin's student spirit items once a week during the lunch hours. Pampered Chef Sales 7Elkins Band & Elite Booster Club / Percussion Committee/Rock-a-thon is a fund raiser and lock-in that creates team building and school spirit. Band and Elite students will take shifts  rock n a rocking chair and other 'rock' activities all night long for pledges. This combined lock-in and fund raiser will be chaperoned by a rotation of over 30 parent volunteers. Student activities are planned through out the night. This is the largest fund raiser sponsored by the Booster Club. Proceeds are primarily used to of<f-set band, percussion and color guard clinician expenses that are paid through out the year. ?Building the Marching Tower Campaign - 'One Section at a Time' =Building the Marching Tower Campaign - 'One Brick at a Time' Build the Marching Tower campaign will consist of several fund raising efforts to generate funds needed to purchase and erect a new director's marching tower. The tower is needed to enable the directors to view the practice of the marching show from the 'football stands' perspective. The Booster has set aside excess funds from prior years to seed the tower purchase. Additional funds are necessary to complete the project. Currently, proper district forms are being prepared and will be submitted to the Principal and District for approval. Detail discussions regarding the Tower initiative and time-line will be held with the school administration. {Build the Tower 'One Section at a Time' is a student fund raising effort. Each of the marching band sections (total of 9 sections) will hold a 'section' fund raisers. The top producing section will win a day off from after school pratice, the day will be choosen by the Band Director. The following fund raisers are being planned car washes, students serve at local restaurant for tips, garage sale (not on campus), flamingo flocks, coupon books, raffle baskets and book drive.
