EVENINGS EVENTS

We hope to see all the parents Friday night @6:30pm for the 'Sneak Preview' of the Marching Show - student parking lot.  Afterwards, everyone should plan on attending the QUICK General Booster meeting in the Boy's Gym.

The 'Parent Information Zone' will open Friday @ 6:00pm, in the 'Gold Hall' (next to the Commons).  In the ZONE  there will be marching band information, forms and someone to collect membership and marching fees and tailgate lunch orders.   Spirit items will be sold.   In the ZONE we will be accepting family commitments for Brick donations in support of the funding raising campaign 'Raise the Tower' One Brick at a Time.  There are a limited number of Brick pavers!  So be sure to sign-up in the Zone and obtain a donation form.  Donations will be due by September 30.

Be sure to check out the ZONE and see what exciting things are going on.

Student rock-a-thon donations are due tonight.    To participate in the lock-in, students need to raise a minimum of $100 in donations.  At the $100 level, the students will obtain one raffle ticket and have access to all the 'rock' fun and food.   For every additional $10 in donations, the student will be awarded one raffle ticket.  Top three students will be able to choose from the grand prizes.  There are over 50 prizes - grand prizes are a Wii, Digital Camera and iTouch.

Everyone will participate in the new prize award game 'Let's Make a Rock'n Deal'.    Only one prize will be awarded per student.   The more raffle tickets a student has will provide them with a greater opportunity to 'Make a Rock'n Deal' and 'deal-up' their prize.   We hope this fun game will provide an enhanced opportunity for all to win a fabulous prize!

A few house keeping items:

No outside food or drinks after 7:00pm

No coolers please!  We will collect all coolers and keep them in the commons under parent supervision.

Nachos, pizza and donated snacks and drinks will be available all night long.

DON'T forget the permission slip.

If you don't have the official form, send a note that states your student has permission to participate.  Make sure your note includes your students name, your name and contact information for Friday night.

Early check in begins Friday, 5:00pm for students who have turned in their donations by Thursday 6:00pm.  Student donations will be accepted on Friday through a late check in process that opens @ 7:00pm.

This is our number one student fund raiser.  Thank you for your support in making it a success!

The Rock-a-Thon is a fundraiser, team building activity and celebration all rolled into one.  Because of the fun and prizes, this has become our students’ number one fundraiser!   Please encourage your student to collect donations and come enjoy all of the Rock-a-thon fun.

This year’s Rock-a-thon and lock-in will be held Friday, August 15 from 7:00 p.m. to Saturday at 6:00 a.m.  Fun activities include Rock Band Jams (bring your guitars, amps, drums and plug-in), dancing, movies, VIDEO GAME competitions, dodge ball/ volleyball/basketball tournaments.  For the entertainment, back by popular demand, a Hypnotist will perform for the students at midnight.  FOOD for all and great PRIZES will be award.  Students may bring a pillow and blanket and take a snooze in the ‘lighted’ QUIET Zone.

The Band and Elite Directors along with parent volunteers will be supervising the event.

Students will not be allowed to leave before6:00 a.m. without a parent picking them-up.  All exits will be monitored and any entrance and exit activity will happen at the rear of the building at the band hall doors.  It is possible for students to leave at a prearranged time, but a parent MUST come in and pick up the student.  If you need to arrange an early pickup time, please email Mr. Estes at Scott.Estes@fortbend.k12.tx.us (Band) or Melissa Diamond at Melissa.Diamond@fortbend.k12.tx.us (Elite).
